Terms of Service

1. The service

Ayra Ventures Private Limited ("we") provides PassportScan, an online tool that lets hotels and guest houses scan guest passports, keep check-in records and send guest details to a property management system.

2. Your account

You must give accurate details when you sign up and keep your password, PIN and two-factor codes private.

The owner of a property decides who can use it and with what role, and is responsible for what those people do in the service.

3. Guest data

You decide what guest data goes into the service and why. You are responsible for having a lawful reason to collect it, including what local immigration or police rules require, and for telling guests how you use it.

We process guest data only on your behalf, as set out in the Data Processing Agreement.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use the service for anything unlawful, to scan documents you have no right to process, or to try to reach data belonging to another property.

5. Checking the results

Reading a passport automatically can make mistakes. Staff must check the details against the passport before relying on them.

6. Availability and changes

7. Fees and scan credits

The service is paid for with prepaid scan credits, bought in packs for one property at a time. Prices are shown on our website and before you pay.

One credit is used each time a passport is read. A photo that cannot be read as a passport, and a new photo of the same passport within 24 hours in the same property, use no credit.

New sign-ups may receive a small number of free credits, once per person.

A property that has paid before may go a few credits below zero so the front desk is not stopped mid check-in. Those credits are taken from its next purchase.

Credits belong to the property they were bought for. They expire 12 months after that property's most recent purchase, and are lost if the property is deleted.

You pay by card through Bank of Maldives. We accept American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and UnionPay. You are charged in Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR) by Ayra Ventures Private Limited, a merchant located in the Republic of Maldives. Prices may be quoted in US dollars; the exact MVR amount is shown before you pay. Your bank may convert it if your card is in another currency.

There is no subscription and nothing renews by itself. Our Refund Policy forms part of these terms.

8. Ending your use

You can delete a property at any time in Settings, which permanently removes its data. [To be completed: our right to suspend accounts, and notice periods.]
